Given the 9 per cent to dou­ble-digit growth plans that India has, (economic growth) can't be achieved if infrastructure is not in place. Today, a villager in a distant vil­lage produces vegetables but if we don't have good roads then those vegetables will not reach distant markets since it is a per­ishable commodity. Even if the vegetables need to be exported, the vegetables need road to reach port, the port needs to have the capacity to handle it, and then it has to be shipped to the destination.
